mataduo is a project created by two young italian guys, francesco resta and alessandro sensini. they live in bologna and they are resident djs in two different but very important club in the city as cassero and kindergarten. they started this project (mataduo) about 2 years ago with the intent to create a tech-house sound out of the trends of the moment and characterized by a strong bass and percussions suitable for different kind of dancefloor.

yo everyone !!! ten years ago (an eternity nowadays) we put out the first cassius track ever. it was called >cassius 99< and it was the first single from our debut album. 1999?.it was also one of our biggest hits. its ten years later now and knowing we have our own label and own our back catalogue we absolutely couldnt resist putting it out again as some kind of >10th anniversary release<. resistance to remix it was weak so we remastered the original and asked producers we really appreciated to give it a go and do their own version of this oldie/goldie.

two years ago, during a trip, i drove to a small place named putivl, near the town of konontop. there i realised how much i love ukraine. too many things in this land about history, secret past ... and i wanted to create a national hero vakula, as in the old ukranian fairy tales.

nemanja nikolic was born in belgrade, serbia. a couple of years ago, he decided to move to sydney for the purpose of audio production studies. rejection and a new world are nemanjas vision of dub techno, evolving pads, reverbs, space and delays. highway of thoughts and the voice of my youth are an attempt of experimental, darker, minimal tracks with lots of sfx, samples from the real world and live instruments. delta funktionen (ann aimee, delsin) appears for the first time on dpress and delivers a top remix of >a new world< that finds its place near the solid techno sound of sandwell district, etiku, ostgut ton.

berghain / panoramabar resident andre galluzzi kick started ostugt ton almost 5 years ago with his pivotal berghain 01 mix cd. now he finally returns home alongside close colleague dana ruh, with this 2 track foray into cutting-edge hypnotic territories. alongside her forthcoming collaborations with galluzzi, and a new label forged by andre, dana ruh runs the respected broquade platform where her elegant inclinations in sound can be explored further.

the french label pilbus records has decided to strike hard with this new ep, offering us great tracks by nathan hell, who took part of the label adventure a few months ago. >heloise< is a really important track for nathan who expressed his feelings to produce a heavy but groovy bassline gimmick around which the rhythm revolves.

up next here at dirt crew recordings is one of our favourite producers and biggest talents in the house scene these days. jay shepheard gained much respect with his fantastic releases and remixes for compost, diynamic, buzzin fly and most recently on his own retrofit label that just saw its launch a few months ago and has been taking off since then. dry percussive house music with a cool disco feel to it and great 80s string hooks. nothing less is offered on this new ep for our label, 4 tracks that go down the same smooth path into house heaven… your dancefloors will love it !

side a offers 2 tracks d-vote is the first. sort of downtempo, takes you by surprise and back an odd 20 years with this brilliant version on my mind is a little more upbeat. still attractively retro. side b the first track no more reminiscing of those vocal experiments in between rnb and house common to ny, london and detroit some years ago. it plays like a revival floor-filler. the second track on side b is got to have, more in the house realm, with heavier bass lines yet quite soulful by vocals and lyrics

here comes the second release on the pattern repeat label. pattern repeat is a new music-project and label by kenneth christiansen, echocord & echocord colour label boss, and his partner dennis bøg aka resoe, running the baum label.the pattern repeat label will only contains productions from kenneth & dennis, and the music is focused on the modern berlin techno sound today, dubstep and dub-techno. pattern repeat will also release records on other labels, so far the first one is out on echocord colour. kenneth and dennis met eachother 8 years ago when they worked together in at that time famous copenhagen-record-shop >loud<, which closed 5 years ago. at that time dennis was more into broken beat, hip-hop and deep house. kenneth was already running the label echocord, and soon dennis started his label baum. the label baum is also like echocord, releasing dub-techno, and dennis started to release his own material as resoe, and builded up his studio the years after. 1 year ago we decided to try to do a new project together, working together in the studio, and now pattern repeat is born.

we lost track of rocco branco nearly 5 years ago. no >goodbye<, nothing, he simply vanished off the grid. a few days ago, mr. branco staggered into the hirsch camp, smelling of sex and jaegermeister, no explanation. no apologies. rocco simply handed over two tracks, turned around, and walked away... diamant captures the sex of a one-night stand. a metaphysical launch pad of selfindulgence. no compromises, purely physical, firm and purposeful – precisely how we like our techno. gibbon depicts sex with a lover – reminiscent of gratifications past. familiar, nubile and polished a mastered motion of lustful appetite. in roccos return, we find a record of lifes carnal moments. good hunting!

the return of putsch 79! after their big momentum a couple of years ago the guys have been busy remixing and producing others. after been out of the music scene for some months doing some fishing and catching butterflies in the northern parts of finland they are back with a big bad disco monster! comes with a possibly even a bigger alden tyrell disco monster remix as we haven t heard from him in a while! peak time material!

prepare to enter the sombrero galaxy. journey to the centre of the sun, the debut release from lovefingers highly anticipated imprint esp institute, is a collaborative effort from londoner jonny nash (discosession) and dutchman tako reyenga. the two met years ago whilst jonny was working and living in tokyo and tako made his way over to dj. around the same time, lovefingers linked up with these two and a musical family had formed. that being told, its only natural for sombrero galaxy to find its home and represent the face of the esp insitute. journey to the centre of the sun is a dive into a moody, visceral and ethereal headspace brought to life through shimmering synthesizers, swirling guitars and a chugging bassline coupled with live percussion, clearly setting the bar higher than the bulk of contemporary electronic music. on the b side, the stallions (lovefingers and lee douglas) reinterpret the track with optimism, nicely complimenting the original with a light and cloudy yet driving house version. this is the music of dreams, keep an eye on esp institute in this new decade.

decks tip : >500 shapes< best moodymann stylee !!!!! two years ago murmur set out with a mission to make their mark on the underground house and techno landscape. along the way they guided the journeys of a bright array of artists, heralding early releases from nick curly, mic newman, nima gorji, bearweasel, tom demac, craig torrance and labelhead geddes, and have forged their own unique musical stamp. happy with that achievement they are now expanding and launching a new arm - murmur-? – creating a concept not to direct from but to compliment its forebearer, murmur-? is a chance to encounter a new shade of music, not just about floorfillers, but exploring music with soul, music with a different tempo and style, often still material you could play in a club but that can also be played and enjoyed anywhere.

lil tony is hotter than hot. while starting to dj and produce years ago, tony has been a staple in the scandinavian club scene since the early 90s. an amazing dj (actually one of the favourites around the moodmusic hq) and a talented producer, tony started with the fbi project with roberto rodriguez and kimmo oksanen before dropping some serious damage on raw trax vol. 1 last year on moodmusic. caned by everyone from luciano (he edited his own version of semble) to dj hell, tonys raw grooves cut the crap and moved people when other producers had to take a leak. hardworking, never forgetting his gentleman manners, tony is here to stay and raw trax vol. 2 is a bold new statement, and his best work to date. solid state takes the classic detroit influenced drum machine vs piano theme a step forward, a impeccable jam of 15 minutes with the beat keeping the pace, this has been roadproofed the last 6 months to good effect. the b-side karamba is a dry, tight driven tech-workout, perfect mixtool for the deeper techno as well as housier sets. it just works well. the closing checkpoint charlie is a tale of >lost in helsinki< – dark mean bass wanders around and gives space for the chuggin main line, monotonic body music at its best.

in 2010 desolat continues its one year old x series with m.in: >sing and blow at the same time<. m.in is an young artist from frankfurt area developing his individual music taste by being open-minded towards other genres. his interpretation of house / tech-house is spiced up with jazz, soul and afrobeat elements in order to present a varied and sophisticated blend to his audience and led to numerous well received solo releases and remixes for radio slave and italoboyz amongst others. m.ins house and his versatile beat programming caught our attention a long time ago - and the title track here simply seemed to be tailor-made for loco dice and his sets. >sing and blow at the same time< was probably one of the best kept secrets since last summer and now it’s time to reveal it. this new desolat x will be the first in the series to be available as a digital file as well. its coloured vinyl, with artwork by florian pohl and mastering by enrico mercaldi, will remain a collectors item - great sounding and good looking.

the berlin-based dj and producer eva be is no newcomer to the international dance-music scene. 2 years ago she released her long-player >moving without travelling< on bestseven / sonar kollektiv records creating her very own trademark dub-influenced electronic sound. this ep is the logical continuation of her musical output as she has been djing quite a heavy 4/4 sound in the last years playing alongside best works records djs andre lodemann, roland appel and alex barck of jazzanova in places such as goa/madrid, cookies/berlin, dampfzentrale/bern, etc.
>new crack< combines an electronic dub driven bass sound with classic old-school house influences - dancefloor business. darko essers mix is more intrecate giving the orginal a more dramatic crystalline twist. last but not least andre lodemanns previously unreleased remix of eva bes tune >she walks alone< sees the light.

way ahead of its time and quite incredible to imagine such a modern sounding record could have been made so many years ago... this cult new wave/dance cover of the doors classic was taken off the first of the two long players that la synth band moebius (not to be confused with german electronic maestro... dieter moebius of cluster and harmonia fame ) released on moonwind records, 1979-1980.

ilya santana originates from the canary islands (spain). he started to discover his passion for music 20 years ago, while his father was listening to alan parson, vangelis and giorgio moroder amongst others. 15 years ago he started dj ing around all the clubs in gran canaria. not long after that he started producing his own stuff. his first release was on balihu, daniel wang s label. in the meantime he also released records on tirk, permanent vacation and gomma, and remixed artists like human league, the phenomenal handclap band, lindstrom... now we are proud to announce ilya s first release on eskimo, burning jupiter. it s the predecessor to his artist album coming up later in 2010 and showcases perfectly exactly why we wanted him so much to join the eskimo family
